Yarning for babies
It seemed that every time I turned around someone I know and/or love was having a baby or knew someone who was having a baby! Over the course of the last year I gained 2 new 2nd cousins and a new great neice and nephew. What to make for each one was a puzzle. I HATE to make something for someone that they don't want or ever use. I started with crochenit blankets. They are so nice because they are reversible and also because they work up so fast. The 2 cousins loved the blankets. One even sent me a photo of the baby laying on the blanket (nice gesture!). Then my neice (mom to the new great neice) suggested hooded blankets or towels and an old idea was reborn. I had knit hooded baby towels in the past but arthritis has also hit the hands so I had to take a knit pattern and make it work either on a loom or with crochet or crochenit. There are books that claim to make the switch from knit to crochet easier but I am to frugal to spend the money. I ended up crochetting them and only have one left to finish. I enjoyed the process of switching! My next big project will be to learn how to connect this blog to sites that I have found and love and to learn how to share photos of my "creations".
